Law Enforcement Membership

The Sheriffs' Association of Texas is updating its Active Membership cycle in 2026. Active Membership is available to all federal, state, and local law enforcement officers, reserve officers, corrections officers, honorably retired officers, security officers, and all sheriff's office employees. 

Beginning in 2026, Active Membership terms will extend from July 1 through June 30 of each year. This timeline aligns with our annual conference and officer promotions and should eliminate confusion about renewal periods.

Active members who joined or renewed in 2025 remain current until July 1, 2026. Those who register (in advance) for the 148th annual conference will also renew their 2026 membership at that time. 

• 2026 Annual dues for currently serving Texas Sheriffs (voting members) cost $100
• 2026 Annual dues for all other active members cost $50 
• Active Lifetime membership will increase to $750

Current lifetime members are not impacted, and there is no increase for Associate and Business Members; they continue to renew membership on a calendar year basis.
