SAT COMMITTEES
LEGISLATIVE
COMMITTEE
The Legislative Committee is
appointed by the President of the Sheriffs' Association of Texas and
composed of Sheriffs from around the state. They are active participants
in the legislative process and insure that all bills introduced which
affect the duties, responsibilities, training, court and jail functions of
the Sheriffs are given proper consideration.
When a particular bill affects the Sheriffs, they will be notified so they
may contact their Senators and Representatives concerning their views.
After the completion of the Legislative Session, the Committee will
provide input into the book entitled, Selected New Legislation published
by the Sheriffs' Association of Texas and will make said publication available
to participants in the Annual Training Conference held in July of the year
the legislature meets.
